(ST. JOSEPH) – Caring Circle of Spectrum Health Lakeland recently achieved level 5 partner status though We Honor Veterans, a program of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) in collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The level 5 distinction is the highest partner level and is awarded to hospice providers throughout the country who have proven their ability to provide consistent, quality care for the unique needs of veterans receiving hospice services.

“As a level 5 partner, Caring Circle will serve as a mentor and help support other We Honor Veteran programs as we work to acquire best practices and provide specialized care and support the needs of our veteran population,” said Stephanie Kostizen, We Honor Veterans program coordinator, Caring Circle. “I am so grateful for the many team members across all disciplines and departments at Caring Circle who make quality veteran care a priority in their everyday work.”

Caring Circle offers a variety of programming and services specific to veterans including veteran-to-veteran volunteer visits, “Hospice at Home Salutes our Veterans” certificate presentations, celebration of veteran holidays, and the Veteran Support Services program which provides support and coordination of benefits and services available in the community and through the Department of Veterans Affairs.
