Hospice at Home is a proud level two (2) partner of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) We Honor Veterans Program. By recognizing the unique needs of America’s veterans and their families, community providers like Hospice at Home, in partnership with the VA, accompany and guide veterans through their life stories toward a more peaceful ending.
One way that our team members have the ability to meet our veteran patients’ needs is to provide recognition for their service to our country through the Hospice at Home Salutes our Veterans certificate presentation. We recently had the opportunity to give this honor to George Graber.
George is an Army veteran who served our country during WWII. He has always been proud of his military service, and when his social worker Amanda offered him the opportunity to receive a formal recognition he happily accepted. On a chilly day in early January, George was surrounded in his home by family, his hospice team, and one of our wonderful veteran volunteers, Sid, who presided over the ceremony.
There are so many veterans who gave and sacrificed for our country without any recognition. On behalf of a grateful nation, and the staff and volunteers of Hospice at Home, we pay special tribute to you, George Graber, for your military service to America, and for advancing the hope of freedom and liberty for all. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to salute you.
