Spectrum Health Lakeland has revised its visitor guidelines effective Wednesday, September 8. Revised guidelines allow for two visitors from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. for the duration of a patient’s stay.

Mask requirements and health screenings continue
(ST. JOSEPH) – Due to rising COVID-19 positivity rates and inpatient volume, Spectrum Health Lakeland has revised our visitor guidelines. Effective Wednesday, September 8, two (2) adult visitors will be allowed in all hospital inpatient settings (including labor and delivery) and in outpatient facilities dependent on patient needs, location, and available space for social distancing.
One (1) adult visitor will be allowed in emergency department, surgery, radiology, and lab. COVID-19 positive adult patients may have one (1) adult visitor; and COVID-19 positive pediatric patients may have two (2) adult visitors.
No visitors under the age of 18 years old will be permitted. Children and minors will not be allowed as visitors except in limited circumstances. Visitor names must be listed on file and be the same throughout the patient's stay.
All visitors to any Spectrum Health Lakeland facility will be required to wear a face mask and answer a series of health screening questions. Those with COVID-19 symptoms or a fever will be asked to visit at another time. Patients seeking care in a Spectrum Health Lakeland clinic or physician’s office also will be required to wear a mask during their visit and follow other safety protocols such as social distancing in waiting rooms. Visitors may be asked to wait in their car if there is not adequate space available for social distancing within the office/facility.
To stay in contact and up to date on a patient’s medical situation community members are encouraged to use social apps such as FaceTime, Facebook messenger, Skype, or other virtual calls. Visitors can also call 269.983.8300 and ask for a patient by name and be connected directly to their room phone number.
