Travis Anderson, MSW
Travis works closely with our providers to help patients connect with community resources and techniques that can improve their overall health. He also addresses behavioral health needs, and helps individuals learn to better manage their own care. Travis earned his Master of Social Work from Western Michigan University after completing his Bachelor of Science in Anthropology and Psychology at Michigan State University. Travis also received his Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor Certification from the Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals. Before coming to Lakeland, Travis helped provide outpatient substance abuse services for individuals with mental illness and their families.
Michele Brock, AGNP
Michele specializes in geriatrics and says it’s important when treating seniors that their entire family be involved in driving the patient’s care. Michele completed her master’s degree in Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner from Maryville University in St. Louis, Missouri, after receiving her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix.
Michele is not new to the area. She worked for years in southwest Michigan as a care management nurse before transitioning to homecare, where she became a nursing director, and later, nursing instructor at Southwestern Michigan College. Michele is certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support, Breast Feeding, and by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
Michele is just one example of how our highly-skilled Nurse Practitioners help us raise the standard of care. Nurse practitioners, or NPs, are advanced-practice nurses who can prescribe medications, unlike registered nurses. They diagnose and treat acute, episodic, or chronic illness and may focus on health promotion and disease prevention.
Erika Nearpass, DO
Dr. Nearpass may be the newest member of our practice, however, she is very familiar with the Tri-Cities area. She currently resides in Hartford and spent three years completing her Internal Medicine residency at Lakeland.
More recently Dr. Nearpass served as the Medical Director for PACE of Southwest Michigan, where she cared for the elderly members of our community.
Dr. Nearpass earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor for Michigan State University and serves as a preceptor for new medical students and residents during their geriatric rotations.
