About Lakeland Health

Spectrum Health Lakeland is located in southwest Michigan on the shores of Lake Michigan, in Berrien county, and is the primary healthcare system serving patients from the five surrounding counties. Spectrum Health Lakeland consists of two acute care hospitals, one located in the northern part of Berrien county in St Joseph, and one in southern Berrien county, in Niles. The Family Medicine Residency Clinic is a five-minute drive to Lakeland Hospital Niles and a 25-minute drive to Lakeland Medical Center, St. Joseph.

Spectrum Health Lakeland has received multiple awards and national recognition in the areas of cardiovascular intervention, pulmonary medicine, clinical outcomes, and patient safety. These awards testify to the exceptional skills and expertise of our medical staff.

Our physicians are eager to share these skills with residents and students. On-site lectures and educational facilities, including an on-site simulation lab, will combine with connectivity to Michigan State University’s vast medical education resources to create an excellent setting for learning.

Spectrum Health Lakeland is a regional campus of Central Michigan University College of Medicine and also a base hospital for Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
