You're watching your baby continual acquiring more speech and language characteristics. Now, learning fast and quicker than before. Here's a few life stage milestones for you baby.
Three Months to Six Months Old Characteristics:
- Smiles spontaneously to human contact, when playing alone, or at faces of several family members
- Stops crying when spoken to
- Shows different responses to family members
- Produces different cries for different reason
- Maintains eye contact
- Vocalizes in response to vocalization
- Vocalizes feelings through intonations
- Laughs and babbles
- Vocalizes to express displeasure
- Stops babbling when another person vocalizes
- Imitates "talking"
- Demonstrates sounds play when along or with others
- Whines with a manipulative purpose
- Attempts to interact with an adult
- Interrupts another person's vocalization
- Discriminates between threatening or friendly voices
- Anticipates feedings
- Cries at an angry tone in voice
You can stimulate your baby's speech and language by talking at the child's level using "motherese," a high pitch voice with many inflections, singing to your child, or introducing items or toys in bright colors or black and white patterns.
