Recently the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology changed the guidelines for blood pressure, stating that anything higher than 130/80, instead of 140/80, will be considered hypertension or "high blood pressure." With the new definition, millions more Americans (46 percent of the adult population) will now be diagnosed with high blood pressure.
