Nov 25, 2019 Share

(ST. JOSEPH) – Spectrum Health Lakeland is pleased to welcome gastroenterologist, Julie Yam, DO, to the medical staff. Dr. Yam will see patients alongside a team of four physicians and two advance practitioners at Great Lakes Gastroenterology with office locations in St. Joseph and Niles.

Dr. Yam earned a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Michigan State University. She completed an internal medicine residency at Sparrow Hospital in East Lansing and a gastroenterology fellowship at McLaren Greater Lansing Hospital. Dr. Yam is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

"What attracted me to joining Great Lakes Gastroenterology was the comradery among the existing partners and the opportunities I would have to grow a practice here in the area,” said Dr. Yam.

Providers at Great Lakes Gastroenterology care for patients experiencing a variety of abdominal and gastrointestinal issues such as Crohn’s disease, gallstones, irritable bowel syndrome and ulcerative colitis, among others. They also perform common procedures including endoscopies, colonoscopies, and liver biopsies. The practice offers patients access to Great Lakes Endoscopy Center, an accredited freestanding ambulatory surgical center.
