Corewell Health Earns Highest Marks in Digital Health
Oct 31, 2022

(ST. JOSEPH) - Corewell Health West and Corewell Health South, formerly Spectrum Health and Spectrum Health Lakeland, have earned the highest marks of any health care organization in the country in the 2022 College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) Digital Health Most Wired survey, a comprehensive “digital health check-up” for health care organizations.

Among the more than 38,000 organizations surveyed, Corewell Health West and South received the highest mark, a level 10, in the areas of acute care and ambulatory care. Fewer than 20 hospitals throughout the country received a top score in one or both of these areas. Additionally, Corewell Health West and South received a level 9 mark in long-term and post-acute care, which was the highest score awarded in this category.

“This is a great honor and recognition for the entire team,” said Jason Joseph, chief digital and information officer, Corewell Health System. “Achieving this level of performance requires collaboration and focus not only from our IT teams, but also from our clinicians and operations teams throughout the organization. Ultimately, our digital transformation benefits our patients, their families, and our communities by creating more seamless experiences, expanding access to care, improving efficiency and affordability, and driving better outcomes through innovation.”

The annual survey identifies and recognizes healthcare organizations’ best practices in their adoption, implementation and use of information technology. Each participant receives a benchmarking report that can be used to assess their current health IT program and develop health IT-based strategies to raise the quality of their organization and the industry as a whole.

“We are proud to honor your team’s exceptional dedication to excellence in digital health,” said CHIME President and CEO Russell P. Branzell. “Your pioneering performance in the industry inspires other organizations by example. Patients in communities around the world receive better care when you drive change through digital transformation, as you have proven through your success in this rigorous program.”
