Roles and Opportunities

  • AUXILIARY BOARD
    Serve in a variety of capacities on a committee, such as scholarships, special projects and fundraising, with the common goal being to enhance patient comfort.
  • BLOOD DRIVES
    Assist with donor registration, escorting donors, serving refreshments and taking appointments for future blood drives.
  • CARE PARTNER
    Assist staff on patient floors by responding to call lights, make beds, visit with patients, assist with patient discharges and activities.
  • CLERICAL
    Assist with answering phones, folding, stapling, preparing mass mailings and other projects as needed.
  • EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT
    Assist staff in stocking rooms, making beds and rounding with patients. Must be able to push occupied wheelchairs.
  • GIFT SHOP CLERK
    Provide friendly customer service by assisting customers with gift selection, deliver flowers, and fill helium balloons as needed.
  • GENERAL STORES
    Unpack, label and inventory supplies. Deliver supply items to nursing units and perform other duties as needed.
  • INFORMATION DESK GREETER
    Greet patients and visitors as they enter the hospital. Provide directions and/or transport patients to various departments within the hospital. Provide room numbers to visitors and print name badges.
  • KNITTERS
    Knit chemotherapy hats or lap blankets from the comfort of your own home.
  • PHARMACY ASSISTANT
    Assist staff by stocking inventory and performing in-house deliveries.

The Veggie Van™, a mobile farmers market, served 13 counties throughout Michigan this year, ensuring that free fruits and vegetables were available to individuals who otherwise had limited access. The program, a joint effort of Corewell Health™ and the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids, launched in 2018 to combat food insecurity and will continue for a sixth consecutive year in spring 2024. Through their partnership, 46,466 free pieces of produce were distributed to Michigan families in 2023.
