Our volunteers assist in a wide variety of service areas. The list below are some of our most common positions for volunteers. If there is an activity not shown that you are interested in or you have questions, please let us know!

PINE RIDGE, STEVENSVILLE

  • ACTIVITIES ASSISTANT
    Provide extra hands to help residents with various activities such as bingo, crafts, and other activities. Help transport patients and provide a caring listening ear.
  • COMMUNITY OUTINGS
    Chaperone and assists elderly residents for various community outings.
  • CLERICAL
    Warmly greet visitors, answer phone, and provide other assistance as needed.

ST. JOSEPH HOSPITAL

  • COOKIE BAKERS
    Like to bake? Provide freshly baked cookies to patients.
  • EMERGENCY DEPT
    Assist staff in stocking rooms, cleaning beds, and rounding with patients.
  • ENDOSCOPY
    Clean beds, discharge patients, assist staff, patients and their families.
  • GENERAL STORES
    Assist staff with labeling and stocking supplies.
  • GAZEBO GIFT SHOP
    Provide friendly customer service by assisting customers with gift selection, deliver flowers, and fill helium balloons as needed.
  • INFORMATION DESK GREETER
    Greet patients and visitors as they enter the hospital. Provide directions and/or transport patients to various departments within the hospital. Provide room numbers to visitors and print name badges.
  • NUTRITION
    Stock nourishment rooms on patient floors with food items, deliver nutritional items to various hospital departments.
  • PATIENT CARE PARTNER
    Stock supplies, help staff, and round with patients.
  • SIM LAB
    Looking to sharpen your potential acting skills? The hospital simulation lab is looking for volunteers to portray a patient in a medical situation. This scripted simulation is used to teach and evaluate residents and medical students.
  • SURGERY DEPARTMENT ASSISTANT
    Assist staff, patients and their families in the surgery area in addition to cleaning beds.
  • SURGERY WAITING ROOM
    Assist patients and guests arriving for surgery services.

CENTER FOR OUTPATIENT SERVICES, ST. JOSEPH

  • COURTESY VAN DRIVERS
    Provide transportation for visitors and patients to and from the parking lot to the building using Lakeland courtesy van.
  • GIFT SHOP
    Provide friendly customer service by assisting customers with gift selection.
  • INFORMATION DESK GREETER
    Greet, escort, direct and transport patients who need assistance at the Health Park.
  • PHARMACY
    Stock shelves deliver pharmacy supplies to various departments and assist pharmacy staff.
  • RADIOLOGY
    Greet patients, provide directions, and take them to the dressing area.

MARIE YEAGER CANCER CENTER

  • INFORMATION DESK GREETER
    Greet guests and visitors as they enter the Cancer Center. Direct patients and families to appropriate location.
  • INFUSION CLINIC
    Greet patients and visitors as they enter the infusion clinic. Offer magazines, books and refreshments to patients. Stock nourishment areas and fill blanket warmers Encourage patients to take part in crafts, puzzles, etc.
