Mask requirements and health screenings continue

(ST. JOSEPH) – Due to the sustained decrease in number of COVID-19 positive patients and percent positivity rates across Spectrum Health Lakeland, the number of visitors allowed in all hospitals and outpatient facilities will increase to two (2) beginning Wednesday, June 2. No visitors under the age of 12 years old will be permitted. Patients with cognitive impairments or needing physical assistance may have two visitors accompany them to physician offices, lab, radiology, and other outpatient appointments.

Due to the decrease in COVID-19 in our communities, beginning Thursday, July 1, we are pleased to allow two (2) visitors for those who have tested positive for COVID-19. Guests must be 18 years of age and older and the same two people for the duration of a patient's stay. Guests will receive training on appropriate donning and doffing of personal protective equipment before entering the patient's room.

All visitors to any Spectrum Health Lakeland facility will be required to wear a face mask and answer a series of health screening questions. Those with COVID-19 symptoms or a fever will be asked to visit at another time. Patients seeking care in a Spectrum Health Lakeland clinic or physician’s office also will be required to wear a mask during their visit and follow other safety protocols such as social distancing in waiting rooms. Visitors may be asked to wait in their car if there is not adequate space available for social distancing within the office/facility.

To stay in contact and up to date on a patient’s medical situation community members are encouraged to use social apps such as FaceTime, Facebook messenger, Skype, or other virtual calls. Visitors can also call 269.983.8300 and ask for a patient by name and be connected directly to their room phone number.

Further details regarding specific facility visitation guidelines can be found here.
