18th Gordon Knutson Memorial Golf Tournament
The 2019 golf outing was held on Friday, June 21 at Lake Michigan Hills Golf Club.
Gordon Knutson was an enthusiastic supporter of Lakeland Hospital, Watervliet and also an avid golfer. Gordon was committed to making quality healthcare services available to the residents of Coloma, Hartford, and Watervliet. This event is a way to honor his dedication and continue his legacy. The event featured 18 holes of golf, food, prizes, swag bag and plenty of fun!
Proceeds to Benefit PARCOURSE
The proceeds from the tournament will be used for the renovation of the PARCOURSE adjacent to Lakeland Hospital, Watervliet. After thirty years, the overall site is in disrepair. Historically, the course has been used by Lakeland therapists and their rehab patients, the Watervliet sports teams, the physical education classes at the Watervliet Middle and High Schools, and any senior resident who wanted to take advantage of this fitness area.
The new PARCOURSE will be redesigned with two (2) quarter-mile asphalt loops to accommodate individuals who may use wheelchairs, walkers, or other mobility aids. Potentially, along each loop there will be four pods. Each pod will include different types of professional grade exercise equipment that offer degrees of difficulty for all fitness levels, and will be open seven days a week, free of charge.
