(NILES) – Spectrum Health Lakeland is pleased to welcome Sharon Rooney-Gandy, DO, FACS, to the medical staff. Dr. Rooney-Gandy will see patients at the Lakeland Wound Center, located at 42 N. St. Joseph Street, Suite 103 in Niles. A second office location is slated to open January 2019 at Lakeland Medical Center in St. Joseph.
Dr. Rooney-Gandy earned a Doctor of Osteopathy degree from Kansas City University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed a general surgery residency at Cleveland Clinic Southpoint Hospital in Warrensville Heights, Ohio. Prior to coming to Lakeland, Dr. Rooney-Gandy worked as a general surgeon and wound care physician at Sturgis Medical Group.
The care team at Lakeland Wound Center specializes in caring for severe or slow-healing wounds caused by diabetes, poor circulation, or trauma, among other conditions. The center offers patients access to cutting-edge products and treatments to promote optimum healing, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
