Corewell Health Opens New Care Center in Niles
Mar 9, 2023

(NILES) - Corewell Health leaders, physicians, community partners and patients marked the opening of the newest facility in Southwest Michigan yesterday in Niles.

The 22,000-square-foot integrated care campus houses Southwestern Medical Primary Care which includes adult and pediatric medicine, walk-in clinic, counseling, as well as otolaryngology and audiology services through Spectrum Health Lakeland Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT). This new facility, located at 2002 South 11th Street in Niles, will open its doors to primary care patients on March 20 and ENT on March 27.

The facility is designated as a Rural Health Clinic, by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, meaning it is in a geographic area determined to need more access to primary care. With 43 exam rooms, state-of-the-art technology, equipment and amenities, this new care center will serve more than 20,000 patients annually through adult and pediatric primary care and the walk-in clinic. The additional space and modern amenities will accommodate growing advances in care delivery and give patients access to a range of coordinated health services from diagnostics to primary and specialty care.

“We are so fortunate to have a facility of this magnitude in a community of our size,” said Keith Twiddy, MD, family medicine physician. “The investment Corewell Health made in this facility continues the legacy of Southwestern Medical Primary Care in Niles and allows us to expand even more to meet the needs of the community. Our clinical teams are proud to serve patients out of a place they had a hand in designing.”

“This community of physicians, advanced practice providers, and mental health care professionals are dedicated to treating all those in need to the best of our ability and with the best available resources,” said Christopher Harvey, MD, pediatric physician. “We are thrilled to have this new building–and everything that comes along with it–as a new resource to continue providing our patients and community with exceptional medical care.”
