When an elderly patient was seen at the walk-in clinic, Jessie ordered a COVID swab and moved their primary care provider appointment up. She took it upon herself to schedule both and notified the patient. The next day, Jessie called the patient due to concern that they had missed their appointment for COVID testing. While on the phone, the patient couldn't recall their address or who the president was. Jessie traced their emergency contact and only relative, a brother, who was called to take the patient to the emergency department. The brother couldn't help because he has cancer and couldn't take a chance to be exposed. Jessie spent over 20 minutes coordinating help for the patient. They agreed to have Jessie call the ambulance to take them to the emergency department. When the EMTs arrived at the home, the patient was found on their knees and extremely short of breath. They were taken to the medical center and admitted. Jessie’s actions saved this person's life.

Through their partnership, 46,466 free pieces of produce were distributed to Michigan families in 2023.
