Lakeland Named “Most Wired’ for Fourth Consecutive Year
Dec 5, 2018

(ST. JOSEPH) – For the fourth consecutive year, Spectrum Health Lakeland has been recognized among “HealthCare’s Most Wired” hospitals and health systems in an annual survey recently released by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME). According to CHIME the mission of the Most Wired program “is to elevate the health and healthcare of communities around the world through the optimal use of information technology. The annual survey is designed to identify and recognize healthcare organizations that exemplify best practices through their adoption, implementation and use of information technology.”

More than 675 organizations, representing 2,190 hospitals, participated in the survey. The report found two key areas that emerged in 2018: the use of foundational technologies such as integration, interoperability, security and disaster recovery; and the use of transformational technologies to support population health management, value-based care, patient engagement and telehealth. These foundational pieces need to be in place for an organization to leverage tools to effectively transform health care.

“Congratulations to the team at Spectrum Health Lakeland for achieving this recognition,” said Jason Joseph, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Spectrum Health. “This is a great acknowledgement of the team’s continued excellence and innovative approach to leveraging technology to enable high levels of quality care.”
