South Bend International Airport Delivers Teddy Bears to Corewell Health Lakeland Hospitals

(ST. JOSEPH) - As part of the eleventh annual Bears in the Air program, South Bend International Airport (SBN) delivered more than 2,500 teddy bears to children in six area hospitals this week, including Corewell Health Lakeland Hospitals, the new name for Spectrum Health Lakeland hospitals in St. Joseph and Niles. The bears will offer companionship and smiles to Corewell Health South patients in the emergency department, pediatric units, and new babies born at the BirthPlace.

“We are extremely grateful for our continued partnership with the South Bend International Airport and their work to help spread joy to our friends and neighbors,” said Loren B. Hamel, MD, president, Corewell Health South. “These bears serve as an added comfort to patients and will certainly create more smiles, cuddles and happiness across our hospitals during the holidays.”
