Message from the President

We’ve made it our mission to take care of friends and neighbors in Southwest Michigan. But sometimes, we can forget a critical part of our work. It’s really easy to do. Any guesses about what that might be?

Taking care of our health, just as we take care of our patients, is really important. That means looking after our physical and mental wellbeing as much as we can and helping others in the Lakeland family work toward the same.

We care about you. And we want you to succeed on your wellness journey. In the past, one of the ways we helped you do this was with the myHealth program. We helped you monitor biometrics like blood pressure and blood sugar, offered programs and classes, and gave a financial incentive to participate.

As our integration with Spectrum Health continues, we’re now transitioning from myHealth to another wellness program: Healthy Lifestyles. We’ve shared this change, but if you haven’t heard about it yet, here’s what you need to know.

It’s a voluntary program. It’s designed to support and reward you on your personal wellness journey each and every day. You can earn $25 per pay period if you sign up and have Priority Health insurance through Spectrum Health. You can earn more cash incentives when you participate in activities, challenges, and programs. You’ll earn points that turn into dollars.

Something really important to know about Healthy Lifestyles is that you’ve been earning the $25 incentive per pay period automatically, up until now. But if you don’t enroll and complete the assessment by March 31, that will go away. So please don’t forget to sign up.

Something else that’s critical to know is that you only have one chance a year to sign up. The deadline for Lakeland team members this year is March 31. I don’t want you to miss your chance to participate, so please take advantage and sign up as soon as you can.

From time to time, you should get emails right from Healthy Lifestyles. Please make sure to read them so you stay up to date on the program.

And I’d like to assure you that although our wellness program is changing, our commitment to your health is not. Team member wellness is mission critical here at Lakeland. So please, sign up, participate, and support each other on our wellness journey.
