Nearly a quarter of a million dollars was raised in support of patient services offered at the Merlin and Carolyn Hanson Hospice Center.
On October 4, 2019, 270 community members and more than 20 volunteers showed their support for the Merlin and Carolyn Hanson Hospice Center at a culinary cook-off. The event raised $204,000 (net) which equates to 669 days of room and board fees for patients not covered by Medicare or other private insurance.
The money raised will be used in a benevolent care fund which gives patients that cannot afford this charge the opportunity to stay at the Hanson Hospice Center, increasing their quality of life while at the end of life.
