Signage required to support Federal No Surprise Billing Act by Mar. 30

by Abigail Tippin | Mar 08, 2022
Signage must be posted at all Spectrum Health facilities to comply with the Federal No Surprise Billing Act.

With the Federal No Surprise Billing Act that went into effect on Jan. 1, 2022, we are required to post signage in all Spectrum Health facilities where care is provided. This information will clearly communicate to patients their rights to receive a good faith estimate, in addition to their rights and protections against surprise billing. Additionally, our check-in users are required by law to provide rights and protections to every patient for every encounter.

This requirement means that all locations registering patients must order hard copies of this document. Please ensure that signs and documents are ordered and posted by Wednesday, Mar. 30. A direct communication with details on Epic workflow changes will be sent via Workday to impacted check-in users the week of Mar. 21.
