New Personal Development Classes Offered

Lakeland University will offer a whole new quarter of personal or professional development classes this summer. For more details on the schedule listed below, please visit myLearning and search by class title. Please also sign up through myLearning, if you plan to attend a class. All classes meet at the Collaborative Learning Center at Cedarwood, 820 Lester Avenue, St. Joseph.

This quarter includes new classes offered by Population Health:

  • Trauma 101: learn about toxic stress, trauma, trauma-informed care, signs of developmental trauma, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), impact on development, long-term health implications of traumatic experiences, the importance of self-care, and more
  • Youth Mental Health First Aid: intended for those who serve and work with youth and adolescent populations; learn risk factors and warning signs for mental health and addiction and strategies to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations
  • Adult Mental Health First Aid: intended for those serving adults populations; learn risk factors and warning signs for mental health and addiction and strategies to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations
