Top Honorees Recognized at Annual Service Awards Banquet

On Tuesday, February 25, more than 50 team members from across Lakeland were recognized at the annual Service Awards Banquet. Held in the new Pavilion, the evening included a red carpet entrance, photo booth, live string quartet and pianist, and catered dining.

Banquet attendees were honored in five-year increments for their dedication to Lakeland, from 25 to 50 years of service. The evening began with special remarks from Lakeland leadership. Honorees also took a trip back in time as they watched videos featuring headlines, music, and entertainment from the previous decades and a video featuring the history of Lakeland.

Lakeland COO and CCO Lowell Hamel, MD shared his gratitude with the honorees, stating, “I’m inspired by the compassion, commitment, and care you’ve shown to our patients each and every day. Tonight is a special way for us to come together to celebrate your accomplishments with our very grateful hearts!”

Terry Allen, a Lakeland board member, addressed honorees at the event, stating, “While Lakeland has always been committed to being a leader in exemplary care, I have had the joy of watching this organization transform over nearly thirty years. The unwavering commitment and compassion you show for patients, friends, and our community is second to none. “

The top honorees of the evening were Karen Margol and Loretta Vandenburg, celebrating 45 years of service, and Nancy Skopec, celebrating 50 years. The banquet concluded with the honorees taking the stage to share some of their earliest and fondest memories of their time at Lakeland.
