Congratulations to our most recent Lakeland Legend winners, Sonya Carlson, Kimberly Versaw, and Amanda Krueger! Read the story below to find out why they were nominated by a team member.

One morning a patient called Lakeland Primary Care, Longmeadow and was greeted by receptionist, Sonya Carlson. The patient was very confused and had difficulty finding her words. As Sonya continued to talk to the patient, medical assistant Amanda Krueger and registered nurse Kimberly Versaw intervened and determined that this was not the patient's base line mental status. The group decided to call 911 and remained on the phone with the patient until a police officer and ambulance arrived at her home. She was taken to Spectrum Health Lakeland Medical Center and was admitted with a brain bleed. By displaying compassion, collaboration, and courage, these three team members saved a woman’s life.
