Leading Edge of Spinal Surgery

Neurosurgeon, Christian Sikorski, MD, recently created a new minimally-invasive spinal  surgery procedure recognized by the American Association of Neurological Surgeons/Congress of Neurological Surgeons Joint Section on Disorders of the Spine and Peripheral Nerves.

This designation honors healthcare facilities with demonstrated expertise and a commitment to quality during the delivery episode of care, which includes both vaginal and caesarean section births. 

Five-Star Rating for Total Knee Replacement

5-star-total-kneeLakeland Health received five stars for the quality outcomes of its total knee replacement surgery from Healthgrades®. Patients undergoing total knee replacement surgery in hospitals with a five-star rating have, on average, a 64.9% lower risk of experiencing a complication while in the hospital than if they were treated by hospitals with one star.

CertaScan Technology

certascanLakeland Health became first health system in Michigan, and only system in the area, to add an extra layer of security for new mothers and infants with CertaScan technology allowing clinicians to scan a newborn’s foot and create an electronic record to help identify the baby if needed.

 

 

 

Changes to Behavioral Health Program
