Our Recruitment Process
What to Expect
Our recruitment process begins with an online application. If you're a first time applicant to Spectrum Health Lakeland you will need to create an account in our system. By registering, your application will be stored online and you will be able to be copy it when applying for other positions in the future. Registration requires a valid email address so that we will be able to communicate with you. If you don't have an email account, you can obtain one, free of charge, from www.mail.yahoo.com, www.google.com/mail, www.hotmail.com. You will be able to access your email from any computer that has Internet access.
If you do not see a position that you would like to apply for in our current job openings, please register for our Talent Network. When the position that you are interested in is posted on our website you will be notified via e-mail.
Applications for employment are reviewed daily. Every person who applies for a position receives an email confirmation acknowledging receipt of his or her interest. Rest assured, if there is a potential fit between your background and an open position, you will be contacted to schedule a telephone interview. This phone interview will better assess whether or not an individual meets the Lakeland traits. We are looking for engaged, high energy, positive individuals with a strong work ethic. If your background does not align well with the position, you will be notified by email.
Following a successful telephone interview, the department manager will contact you for an onsite interview. Be prepared to answer both general questions about your background as well as specific questions about situations you have encountered in your work history. Provide as much detail as possible in your responses – for example, what you worked on, who you worked with, problems you encountered, how you solved the problems, feedback you received and what you learned from the situation.
The final step in the recruitment process is a group interview by a team of your potential peers.
Soon after the final interview, you will be contacted by a recruiter with a decision regarding employment with Lakeland Health.
