Lakeland Announces New Ambulatory Surgery Patient Care Manager

(ST. JOSEPH) – Lakeland HealthCare has appointed Dawnell Schmeling of Stevensville as Patient Care Manager of Ambulatory Surgery at the Center for Outpatient Services, St. Joseph. In her new role, Dawnell ensures safe, high-quality care for patients undergoing outpatient surgical procedures.
Prior to accepting this management position, Dawnell worked in surgery for 17 years in various roles, including a scrub tech and an RN circulator. Most recently, she worked in Performance Support with quality programs related to surgery.
A native of Southwest Michigan, Dawnell earned her LPN and RN degrees from Lake Michigan College, and is scheduled to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Michigan University in spring 2015.
