Seth Miller, MD

"The most important thing the I do is listen to my patients. This is necessary in guiding to the correct diagnosis as well as establishing expectations and determining if surgery is desirable within the context of a patients overall desires and goals."

Dr. Miller served 12 years in the United States military and most recently practiced bariatric and general surgery as Chief of General Surgery at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas. Dr. Miller received his doctorate of medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science/Chicago Medical School in Chicago, Illinois. He completed his residency in general surgery at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. Dr. Miller is a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). He has been involved in numerous research projects and published in several publications.


Michael Schuhknecht, DO

“I enjoy seeing the positive changes in my patients’ lives throughout their weight loss journeys. Their outlooks improve and they become more active. That’s the real joy my job brings to me – helping people get back to living life.”

Dr. Schuhknecht is one of Michigan’s most experienced bariatric surgeons, having performed procedures for nearly 20 years. During his career he served as chief of surgery at St. John Detroit Riverview Hospital and assistant program director of General Surgery for the St. John Detroit Riverview Hospital Medical Education Department. He is board-certified by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) Board of Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons (FACOS) and member of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons.


Teri Peak, DNP, FNP

“It’s a privilege to develop a relationship and care for each of our patients throughout their weight loss journey. I find it particularly rewarding when they are able to reach a healthy place in their life and resolve co-morbidities they once faced.”

Teri has been a nurse practitioner since 2005 and began her career at the Lakeland Weight Loss Center in 2010. In 2016, she earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Frontier Nursing University. Her research focused on shared medical appointments for bariatric patients prior to surgery – an idea she has begun to implement within the center.


Rebecca Wolff, NP

"I am looking forward to sharing my passion for staying active and eating healthy with my patients to help reduce their risk for chronic conditions while maintaining a healthy lifestyle."

Rebecca earned a Master of Science in Nursing degree with a family nurse practitioner certification from Spring Arbor University. She has over 10 years of clinical experience working at Spectrum Health Lakeland in the emergency department and with the vascular access team. Wolff is a Member of the American Association for Nurse Practitioners.

Selena Díaz, RD

“My goal as a dietitian is to help patients feel respected, empower them to develop a good relationship with food, and ensure they nourish and feed their body the proper nutrients to further their health.”

Selena graduated from the University of Texas – Rio Grande Valley with a degree in nutrition and dietetics. She is currently a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Prior to coming to Lakeland, she worked as an inpatient clinical dietitian in Texas and led monthly plant-based cooking classes in her local community. 


Halley Harmon, RD

"I love the relationships we build with our patients and getting to cheer them on throughout their weight loss journey. I am passionate about helping our patients create eating habits that promote their health while also having a healthy relationship with food."

Halley earned a bachelor's degree in dietetics from Michigan State University. She completed a dietetic internship through Andrews University at Lakeland Medical Center in St. Joseph. She is currently a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Robin Hebard, RD

"We have the privilege of working closely with each patient and supporting them throughout their journey to better health. It is extremely rewarding to see patients make lifestyle changes and achieve their goals, and the overall happiness and success it brings into their lives."

Robin has spent over half her career working with weight management and bariatric patients. She earned a bachelor's degree in nutrition and dietetics from Andrews University and completed a dietetic internship through Andrews University at IU Health Goshen Hospital. Robin is certified in obesity and weight management and is a current member of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics.
