We strive to make sure that our patients can be seen by a doctor as quickly as possible.

Our Niles and Watervliet emergency departments promise that you will be seen by a medical provider 29 minutes or less after registering. You can see current emergency department wait times for each of our facilities below

Please note that the wait time is provided for informational purposes only and is subject to change.

Patients with life-threatening emergencies receive care immediately.

Corewell Health Lakeland Hospitals St. Joseph Hospital

Spectrum Health Lakeland Medical Center is a 196-bed hospital providing critical care medicine, hospitalists, medical and radiation oncology, open heart surgery and comprehensive cardiac services, emergency care from board-certified physicians, neurosurgery, orthopedics, obstetrics, rehabilitation services, behavioral medicine, and radiology. It is also the home of the Frederick S. Upton Education Center, which hosts an array of health education programs for the community.

The Veggie Van™, a mobile farmers market, served 13 counties throughout Michigan this year, ensuring that free fruits and vegetables were available to individuals who otherwise had limited access. The program, a joint effort of Corewell Health™ and the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids, launched in 2018 to combat food insecurity and will continue for a sixth consecutive year in spring 2024. Through their partnership, 46,466 free pieces of produce were distributed to Michigan families in 2023.
