The most important part of treating any type of cancer is early detection. For women, Pap tests, clinical breast exams, and mammograms are important tools for early detection of disease.

Sapna R. Patel, MD, Hematology/Oncology, received her Medical Degree from the Spartan Health Sciences University School of Medicine in Vieux Fort, St. Lucia. She has also completed fellowships and is board-certified in Medical Oncology and Internal Medicine.

Prior to returning to southwest Michigan, Dr. Patel worked at the Regional Cancer Center at IPMC in Kingsport, Tennessee. She also spent three years at the Southwest Virginia Regional Cancer Center in Norton, Virginia. Dr. Patel is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Medical Association, and American College of Physicians.
