Lung Cancer Risk Assessment Launches at Spectrum Health Lakeland

A free health risk assessment for lung cancer has recently been launched at Spectrum Health Lakeland. Using four simple questions, the test can help determine if someone is at risk for lung cancer and whether they should undergo a further screening.

The community will be encouraged to access the test online to identify if they are eligible for the screening based on age, history of smoking, pack years, and recent smoking habits. If a score shows high risk, the individual is prompted to talk with their primary care provider and request an order for a low-dose CT scan which can help detect lung cancer earlier.

Lakeland providers may receive inquiries from patients interested in scheduling a screening. Providers are also encouraged to share the free risk assessment with their patients.
