Lakeland team members can now enjoy free massage chair and relaxation areas. Courtesy of the Spectrum Health West Michigan employee wellness committee and the Spectrum Health Lakeland Foundation, a massage chair has been placed at each of these locations:

  • Spectrum Health Lakeland Medical Center, St. Joseph: Wellness Room D4114 (outside of 4th floor CCU)
  • Spectrum Health Lakeland Niles Hospital: Library
  • Spectrum Health Lakeland Watervliet Hospital: Administration office’s computer room
  • Pine Ridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Center: Room 108

“Supporting the wellbeing of team members is very important to Lakeland leadership,” said Soroya Pierre-VanArtsen, president, Spectrum Health Lakeland Foundation. “Our team members give so much to others. We hope this project allows them to take a few moments for themselves.”

The Veggie Van™, a mobile farmers market, served 13 counties throughout Michigan this year, ensuring that free fruits and vegetables were available to individuals who otherwise had limited access. The program, a joint effort of Corewell Health™ and the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids, launched in 2018 to combat food insecurity and will continue for a sixth consecutive year in spring 2024. Through their partnership, 46,466 free pieces of produce were distributed to Michigan families in 2023.
