Engaging Our Community

AdvocatesCorewell Health South, formerly Spectrum Health Lakeland, engages community members in various groups and committees to ensure that community voice is implemented throughout our health care system. This joint effort is intended to create long-lasting relationships that will guide our population health work and advance health equity in our community. 

 

Center for Better Health and Wellness Advisory Board 

The Center for Better Health and Wellness Advisory Board provides input to the direction and operations of the Center located in Benton Harbor. They ensure that community engagement and voice are present while also helping the healthcare system foster a deeper relationship with the community.

Bertha Carson-King (also a member of the Community Health and Wellness advocates)

Community Health and Wellness Advocates 

The Community Health and Wellness Advocates provide expertise to ensure messaging is relevant and resonates with community members. They also provide perspectives on how the system can best reach everyone in the community and share insight into the development of community programs and events.

My goal is to help remove personal and community barriers that impact the health and wellness of Berrien County residents. Population Health Committee

The Population Health Committee is a sub-committee of the Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital Board of Directors. They serve as stewards of the population health department and help to ensure that their efforts align with the entire health system’s health equity efforts.
