Rebuilding community trust in healthcare providers and health systems is a critical area of focus for health equity. Lack of patient trust influences care experience and health outcomes, and there continues to be large disparities in trust among historically marginalized racial and ethnic groups. This case study, published by the Health Equity Alliance, showcases the community-defined trust metrics developed by Spectrum Health Lakeland using community-based participatory research methods.
